Gift of Love
Love is one of the "fruits of the Holy Spirit." First, we receive God's love though the Holy Spirit and then we are able to give that love to others. God's love is perfect.
John 15:4 Dwell in me and I will dwell in you (Live in me, and I will live in you.) Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
Love is Like Pure Gold
Love is like pure gold. It does not bend, tarnish, or become fragile. Gold is purified and clean with no blemishes. In my love there is no harassment, pain or discouragement.
How can you measure if you are abiding in and flowing in My love as declared in 1 Corinthians 13? Take now the test of love:
| kindness | never envious or jealous |
| rejoices in truth and righteousness | not boastful or haughty |
| bears up under anything that comes | not conceited, arrogant or full of pride |
| believes the best of all people | not rude and does not act unbecomingly |
| endures everything without weakening | does not insist on its own rights |
| does not insist on its own rights | does not rejoice with injustice |
| pays not attention to a suffered wrong | not touchy, fretful or resentful |
| hopes are fadeless under all circumstances | little or no hope |
You are able to love perfectly only through me. If you love without abiding in me, your love will be soulish--full of anxiety, insecurity, instability and could produce unnecessary suffering in your life.
Abide now in Me. Read and meditate on my Word. Pray with understanding and in the Holy Spirit. You will be trained to abide in Me though the revelation teaching of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fruit of love will be flowing out of your inner being. And now abide faith, hope love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
